American Idol!

I LOVE this freakin' show! I have watched reality shows here and there but none have captured my attention for this long. Tonight it was down to 11 contestants.

The one person I feel MUST go is Bucky. First of all, Bucky? This poor child. And he looks so awkward on stage. And his twin brother's name is Rocky. "Have you got a kiss for me?" "You better take a raincheck on that Art. He's got a lip fungus they ain't identified yet." Ick. The other weaker idols are Kevin - cute (if he was in a talent contest in 6th grade) and he has an annoying lisp, and Lisa Tucker - young and will get there some day. So that leaves 8 stronger singers: Man-diesel (look out Whitney), Paris (impressive pipes for her age), Katharine (Zeta-Jones-like), Kellie Pickler (omg is she for real? Mink?? holy crap this is better than watching Jessica Simpson), Taylor(fun to watch and can sing - I'd love a guy friend like this to hang with), Elliott (Elfin' magic can sing!), Ace (he's ok - seems unique...somewhat...I guess the jury is still out on this one), and THE GOD of the season: Chris Daughtry. Why is he even on this show? Get his ass on tour so we can drool over him in person. This is such a freakin' tease!

Honestly, I can't even make a prediction. I guess I can put Ace up with Bucky, Kevin, and Lisa. As for the rest of them...maybe I'll have an epiphany. For now I just look forward to seeing Chris stare into my eyes...I mean the camera...every week with some hot, kick-ass rock song. Leg up!!

So far, so good!

Being 30 has been great! Leg up!! And most of it has involved St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

On March 4th, Jaime and I headed to Virginia to party in Old Town Alexandria for the annual bar crawl. There was a parade...somewhere. Where there is a parade, there is a bar crawl so we never actually see the parade. The journey began at South Side to fill up on some tasty burgers. Then we headed to Pat Troys to hear some authentic Irish music. Next stop - Union Street - where my drunken stupor was in full force. Some random group of people gave me a shot. I didn't want to be rude so I proceeded to do the shot with my new friends. I believe a drunk dialing call was made, and the person on the other end of the line pointed out to me it was only 7:30. But then again I had my first drink at 8:30 that morning, so I was already 11 hours into it a that point. Finally my journey ended at the next stop: Chadwick's. Shots? Yes, have some.

Speaking of shots, this past Saturday was full of them. Of course it was our second St. Patrick's Day bar crawl only this one took place in the freezing cold of upstate New York. This treck also began with burgers...and wings...and other fine assortments of food shared by a few of us at Kelly Cole's Improper. Don't forget the beer! Ha - never! Then we headed down the street to the Bull & Bear. We just one beer here. The look of the male patrons was better than the previous but still not quite what we were looking for. We proceeded outside with our plastic cups o'beer, crossed through the parade (I have been in the parade two years in a row - after three, I can give out autographs). We headed straight to Dorsey's where we spent the majority of the day. What a freakin' blast! I can't even describe it...only that many shots and cans of beer were consumed with some very fun, happy parade and non-parade goers. I can't wait to do it again next year!! Well, maybe we don't have to wait. Do I need a "holiday" as a reason to go bar hopping? Hell no! I'm single and loving life. I'm going out Saturday night! Who's with me - talk it up infield! ;)
