If only every weekend could be like this...

I started a blog entry about my trip to the beach a month ago (today's date is actually Aug. 6th!), but I saved the draft then was sick for a week and never came back to it. Between school and my weekend trips, I am just sitting down to recap my summer so far.

The trip to the beach was a blast. I left on Saturday morning of July 1st and came home Wednesday the 5th. I spent a day at the beach, a day on a boat with Donna, Stephanie, and the boys, and each day/night with lots of beer. It was the perfect Independence Day celebration in more ways than one.

Two weeks after the beach I headed to Philly to see Bon Jovi. Donna and I of course spent the day at Chickie's and Pete's with two towers of beer before heading to the show. It was just as incredible as the two shows we saw in Philly in December. The biggest difference was this show was outside and it was HOT!! We headed back to C&P's after the show, and the band was chilling in the back room there as well. We didn't get any glances but I did spot Ron Jaworski! And I touched his shoulder. I tried to get his attention to see if I could get my pic taken with him but to no avail. Maybe next time...oh hell screw that...next time I want Richie! :-)

Two weeks following the Philly show, Jaime accompanied me to New Jersey where we met up with Donna and Stacey to see Bon Jovi's final show of the tour at Giants Stadium. This is the second time I have seen them in their hometown to end a tour not to mention the dozen plus shows I've seen throughout my tenure as a fan. And I can honestly say this was THE BEST Bon Jovi show I have ever seen! They played for almost three hours and played songs I had never heard in concert. It was absolutely amazing!! In addition we saw all of Nickelback's set this time (we only saw about three songs in Philly), and they rock! I would love to see them again as well.

That brings me to today, which capped our 5th annual trip to Paradise Island in Canada. Most of us either took the day off from work and headed out early to make the trip to the border for a weekend of Canadian style R&R. The weather couldn't have been better - sunny and mid-80's. I was loving life, and my tan was reinstated.

Now I look to a full August. Labor Day will mark the end of an incredibly busy and fun summer. This Thursday I leave for Virginia to see my new favorite local, cover band - Burnt Siena, then spend time with the boys of Flushing when they take on the Nationals at RFK Stadium Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The following weekend the girls and I will be heading to Albany to see our female heros Antigone Rising followed by Saturday's festivities to celebrate Jaime and Xtine's 30 birthdays! Then the last Saturday in August we celebrate Jill's last days as a single woman. So many reasons to celebrate!

Speaking of celebrating, Shannon and Brian welcomed their first child, Anne Marie Walters, and she is beautiful! Leg up to the new little Walters!!

I may not have a chance to type up an entry for another month, so cheers until then! Leg up!!

I'm So Tired

Holy crap it's 12:37 am, and I just finished doing some school work. I'm beat, and now it is too late to post my blog about my 5-day excursion to the beach. Stay tuned - I will post soon I promise. And I will be creating a myspace page soon. I'm expanding my horizons in real life and on the internet.

Leg up!!
